WHAT IS ORBIT?
Orbit is a network of service clubs throughout the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for people of all ages from mid twenties upwards. The organisation was the first mixed club of its kind in the UK and was originally started in the Surrey area in the 1970s. Orbit clubs arrange social and fund raising events for the benefit of the local community. Club members may also become involved in charitable projects, but above all the emphasis is to enjoy it.
The Orbit Club of Nonsuch was set up in 1980 by retiring members from three local Rotaract Clubs : Epsom, Ewell and Sutton from which they continued to recruit members in the early years. Not wishing to be seen to favour any of these towns, the club was named Nonsuch in memory of the famous Nonsuch Palace which was situated in the centre of the area. Nowadays our members come from an even larger catchment area.
